Classicism in Germany started during the second half of the 18th century. Deprived from the antiquity era, it was against the recent baroque style. Good examples of this type of architecture are the English Grounds of Wörlitz and the Brandenburg Gate. A famous architect from this time period is Karl Friedrich Schinkel, he is famous for his favor for Greek rather than Roman architecture, many of his designs are found in Berlin.
