
Historicism, otherwise known as Eclecticism is a style inspired by older historic styles. Beginning in the middle of the 19th century it was very similar to the Classicism era. Important works from this time period are Neuschwanstein and Ulm Cathedral. An important architect was Gottfried Semper.

That castle looks very cool, Laurel—like something out of a fairytale! Makes me wonder if there is some connection there, since the Brothers Grimm, who were also German, published their collected tales in the 19th century as well.
